Izumo Hariko -Japanese Paper Doll

The technique of “hariko” (paper-mache) is traditional handicraft
since Edo period. Each Hariko animals have meaning.  Izumo (Shimane Pref) is a famous of Izumo Shrine. “Hariko-no-tora” is a
tiger doll whose head swings when touched by a finger.
Hariko Tiger has the meaning of keeping evil spirits away and go forward with courage.
